How to send compounds for testing

Sending a compound for testing is called a "shipment". Once a test compound has been synthesized and purified, it should be registered as a batch in TUGDB by by the chemist. Before the compound leaves the lab, it should be registered as a shipment:

  1. Weigh out the accurate amount to be shipped, typically 2-3 mg, in the standard vial. Never send everything. It is important that we keep as much as possible but at least a reference sample in the chemistry lab.
  2. Look up the compound in TUGDB. If it has not yet been registered, this must be done first by the chemist who synthesized the compound.
  3. Press the Add shipment button, fill in the amount weighed out, select the lab that will receive the compound.
